Little-known fact: A few years after this race, Larry H. Miller bought the Mountain View track, with the intention of turning it into Miller Motorsports Park. But the local NIMBYs in the nearby town of Mead, Colo., shot him down. Were it not for their myopia, I could have been watching ALMS, World Superbike, etc. less than 10 miles from my front door.
